Well my good buddy Rick Wisner informed me that I haven't done a
fishing report since August so here we go. Over the month of January
the fishing was about on par with a normal year. The Temps have been
quite pleasant and a lot of Trout in the 16-23 " range have
been caught by DOA Shrimp or CALS on jig heads. Also on the fly
mostly with Clouser minnows. Ladyfish and Jacks have been abundant
in the Sebastian River and eager to take a fly or lure. Some catch
and release Snook are also available but the tarpon have been tough.
When I was able to get offshore the Bluefish were every cast. As the
water has cleared up the sight fishing for Reds has picked up as
well. The warm weather has kept the Pompano bite in the lagoon to a
slow pick this year so far. I look forward to Feb as the water is
warmer than the last couple of years and hopefully the fish
will get happy !
ITS NOT FISHING ITS MUCH MORE THAN JUST THAT ! Capt Mike
